446 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION CLINICAL AUDIT COORDINATOR Wake Forest University Health Winston Salem, NC E lizabeth “Jonel” Ferguson Kinser always knew she wanted to be a nurse. She was fortunate to have two great aunts who had graduated from Erlanger School of Nursing in the 1930s. Both went on to have long and distinguished careers. Her nursing career started in 1990 with an associate degree in nursing from Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College. She worked at the bedside in cardiology and cardiovascular medicine for 13 years prior to relocating toWinston Salem, N.C. Today she is a clinical auditor for Wake Forest Baptist Health, working with revenue integrity and regulatory compliance issues. She returned to school and obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Winston Salem State University in 2008. She is a member of the ANA and NCNA, and past president of a local NCNA chapter. She was honored with the Who’s Who by Women’s Outstanding Leadership award. Ms. Ferguson Kinser currently serves on the board of directors for the Ferguson Foundation. Federico has specialized in family law, divorce, prenuptial agreements and paternity cases since the start of her career in 1994. Since then, she has served as an attorney and founding partner of Schmidt & Federico, P.C. Admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Ms. Federico earned a Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. She became interested in the legal field through the support of her mother and one of her colleagues, Eileen Shaevel, who taught her that her work in the field was a profession and not a job. A few years ago, Ms. Federico started a pilot program in the Middlesex Probate and Family Court called Child Focus Facilitation Team, which consists of herself, a mental health professional, and a retired judge who volunteer an entire day once a month to settling the court. Aside from her private practice, she also serves as a guest lecturer at Boston College Law School and Suffolk University Law School. Ms. Federico has authored many articles on family law practice.
