A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 485 A management consulting expert with over 15 years of experience in project management, corporate finance and strategic business operations, Peter Papaemmanouil is currently involved in international trade and development projects as executive chairman of the Merin Group. He also acts as managing partner with the Mannai Welfare Housing Corporation, where he has supervised and helped to facilitate the construction of thousands of homes. Having previously worked for the Victorian state government as an advisor, he learned the value of cross-cultural partnerships and being a loyal community servant. In addition to his vast experience, Mr. Papaemmanouil has achieved considerable success because he is a versatile communicator able to relate to people frommyriad backgrounds and cultural vantage points. In fact, his ambitions have taken him as far as working closely with the royal families of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. To prepare for her career, Ms. Pakula earned a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University in 1956 and completed coursework at Wellesley College and Paris-Sorbonne University in 1953 and 1959 respectively. Throughout her career, Ms. Pakula has taken biographical information of well-known figures in history and written works of art, including authoring “The Last Empress: Madame Chiang Kai- shek and the Birth of Modern China,” “An Uncommon Woman: The Empress Frederick,” and “The Last Romantic: A Biography of Queen Marie of Roumania.” She remains active in the field as a member of the Human Rights Watch, the Council on Foreign Relations, PEN America, serving as chairman of the freedom to write committee and the Century Club. Her contributions to the field have earned her the Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal for Human Rights in 1999. Currently, she is working on a book about Anna Roosevelt, the daughter of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
