A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 57 A s an expert in theoretical physics, Dr. Bijan Berenji is immensely knowledgeable about physics and astronomy, mechanics and thermodynamics, physical modeling, mathematical modeling, numerical computation, and simulations and algorithms, among various other areas in the sciences. Even at a formative age, he held a natural affinity for the sciences and was proficient in mathematics, computers and general science. In 2001 he earned a degree in physics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and he received a Doctor of Philosophy in applied physics from Stanford University 10 years later. He also completed postdoctoral coursework at UCLA. Dr. Berenji commenced his career in an affiliated postdoctoral position with the Fermi Large Area Telescope Collaboration from 2013 to 2016. Since that time, he has held a variety of positions in the sciences, including serving as a research consultant with fiziSim LLC since 2013, an adjunct professor in astronomy at El Camino College since 2014, and an adjunct professor in physics and astronomy at California State University, Los Angeles, since 2015. Dr. Berenji has contributed articles to peer-reviewed publications throughout his career and is the author of “Constraints on Axions and Axion-Like Particles from Fermi LAT Observations of Neutron Stars,” which was published in Physical Review D in 2016. Affiliated with the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa, he also maintains membership with the American Physical Society. As a testament to his profound success, Dr. Berenji received a Recognition Award from the Fermi Large Area Telescope Collaboration in affiliation with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 2011. In his spare time, he enjoys playing as a second violinist in a classical music orchestra, which focuses on romantic and post-modern composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Prokofiev and Mahler.
