126 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION A dolescence is the time in life when young people seek to bend rules, act as rabble-rousers and explore the newfound freedom of getting older. It’s not exactly common, then, that a 14-year old would be inspired to learn the ins and outs of the law. Nonetheless, that is exactly what Michael J. Eyre was inspired to do after going to court and watching his uncle, lawyer Donald M. Pach. From that point on, Mr. Eyre had no question that he wanted to be an attorney. Almost 45 years later, the Law Offices of Michael J. Eyre serves the Long Beach, California, community in personal injury, business litigation and real estate-related cases. In his almost 30 years of practice, and particularly since opening his firm in 2009, Mr. Eyre has overseen a variety of cases, from automobile and industrial accidents to dog bites, breaches of contract, business dissolutions, and even eminent domain, zoning and specific performance matters. He has always striven to understand not just the practice of law, but also the business of law, and this has led to his current success. It also helps that his love for the law has earned him high honors, including a 10.0 Superb rating and Client Distinction Awards from Avvo, an AV Preeminent™ rating with Martindale-Hubbell ® , and recognition as a Southern California Top Attorney every year since 2013. Mr. Eyre also excelled while obtaining his education, earning American Jurisprudence awards in evidence and civil procedure while working to receive a Juris Doctor from the Western State University College of Law in 1987. Prior to that, he studied political science in a postgraduate program at California State University, Long Beach and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of California, Irvine. Mr. Eyre’s current role is not the be-all, end-all of his legal career; rather, he hopes to become a judge in the near future. His acceptance into the Temporary Judge Program for the Los Angeles Superior Court and recognitions as one of the top temporary judges in the county serve as strong indicators of his next career move.
