134 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION A s the executive vice president and general manager for the Americas for Columbia Sportswear, an innovative sports retailer and vendor of attire and equipment for various sports, Franco Fogliato maintains involvement in the corporation’s executive board and reports directly to the president and international chief executive officer. In addition to developing effective business strategies, his expertise includes brand management, marketing and distribution and draws upon more than 20 years of experience in the industry. After joining Columbia Sportswear in 2013 as the senior vice president and general manager EMEA of direct sales, Mr. Fogliato was promoted to senior vice president and general manager of the EMEA region in 2016 before settling into his current role. Prior to these positions, he served the Billabong Group on the company’s executive board and as the general manager of Europe from 2004 to 2013. Similarly, he was also involved with The North Face brand, holding several roles until his departure from the brand as general manager of Western Europe. Mr. Fogliato holds an MBA in general management from the Open University Business School in the United Kingdom. He joined his profession due to his profound interest in sports and strong background in business management. Always enjoying the environment in which he has worked, he cites his passion for the industry as the driving force behind his success. Looking toward the future, Mr. Fogliato intends to focus on his professional growth within the sportswear market, as well as his passion for sports. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, exploring the outdoors, spending time with family, and running.
