An expert in innovation and entrepreneurship, he has been a professor at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow, Russia, since 2017. He commenced his career as a senior advisor for Matra Systems in 1999. Mr. Geneste was encouraged by his father to pursue a career in education early on, as he was also a practicing physics teacher. Beginning as a student at the École Supérieure d’Ingenieurs en Constructions Aéronautiques in 1983, he returned to his studies later on in his career, when he attended the Institut de l’Entreprise. He has since published several articles in professional journals, including “La Gifle Chinoise,” “Petit traité de philosophie moderne du libre arbitre,” “Politique industrielle: des idées neuves pour demain” and “Physique: de l’esprit des lois.” Though he attributes his profound success to his mentor, Philippe Camus, the creator and former chief executive officer of EADS Astrium, Mr. Geneste has always had an affinity for thinking outside the box. Supported by the encouragement of his wife, he is in the process of founding a new company, WARPA, with the goal of research and industrial development. Looking toward the future, Mr. Geneste intends to continue working as a part-time professor and industrialist while creating opportunities for future generations of entrepreneurs and scientists across the globe.
