154 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION S ince 2012, Dr. Stanford M. Goldman has been a professor emeritus at McGovern Medical School, where he climbed his way to success as a professor and chairman of radiology and professor of urology. He was also a professor of radiology at M.D. Anderson Medical Center and an adjunct professor of urology and radiology at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Goldman pursued a career in radiology after being on the faculty of the Einstein College of Medicine. He then returned to Einstein for one year before moving to Baltimore’s Sinai Hospital, where he was an assistant director of the radiology residency program and a staff radiologist. He transitioned in 1972 as an instructor and then assistant professor of radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He remained at the university until 1993, serving as an associate professor, professor of radiology and professor of urology. Dr. Goldman has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles, edited at least three books, written between 10 and 15 chapters in medical-radiological texts, and lectured at multiple schools nationally and internationally. He was also a clinical professor of radiology at the University of Maryland and a visiting faculty member at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Dr. Goldman attributes his success to being driven and having interesting mentors, including Dr. Madoff, his former pediatrician and a faculty member at the Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine. As an Eagle Scout, Dr. Goldman also had a mentor named Samuel Connelly Jr., an associate dean at Thomas Jefferson University and a sponsor with whom he quickly became good friends. His third mentor was the chairman of the Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Milton Elkin, who assisted him with writing papers. Dr. Goldman has been involved with Jewish charities and synagogues, as well as his children’s and grandchildren’s schools. Much of his work has focused on establishing educational programs, and he has sat on Jewish community educational boards in Baltimore and Houston. He has volunteered at the Hadassah Hospital Medical School, and during the Gulf War he volunteered at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University. STANFORD M.
