A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 227 F or more than 20 years Kevin J. Loechl has been practicing law, having been inspired by a close family friend who served as a trust and estates attorney. He admired her ability to solve problems and give wise counsel to her clients, which was highly valued. Although he wasn’t interested in estate planning, he did like the idea of solving problems, thinking logically, having meaningful interactions with clients, and being involved in the creative process of developing solutions. Surrounded by many entrepreneurial families growing up, he wanted to practice corporate and transactional law because it combined his interest in legal problem-solving and serving as a trusted advisor. Mr. Loechl has held positions at many other firms, including Baker & McKenzie, LLP, Bird & Associates, P.C., and Ronald Blue & Co., LLC. The highlight of his career was serving as general counsel to two particular companies, working with them in that capacity throughout their life cycles and up to the point that they were eventually sold. During his time with both, he had the opportunity to develop close and trusting relationships with the owners, who invited him to participate in the planning and strategy for their businesses while helping them frame their professional lives as part of a bigger life picture. Mr. Loechl attributes his success to his parents’ encouragement to excel and dream big, his wife’s steady and patient support, his hard work, and the grace of God. He would like to see the business of the corporate and securities practice double over the next five years and looks forward to continuing to invest in and mentor younger lawyers within and outside of the firm. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Calvin College in 1991 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1994. KEVIN J. LOECHL, ESQ.
