238 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION H ailing from a progressive family who actively fought for women’s rights and believed in the power of women in politics, Rosemary McAuliffe is a passionate lawyer who has been in private practice in Boston, Massachusetts, since 1956. While her practice focuses on estates and probates, among other areas, she has always advocated unwaveringly on behalf of clients who were at a financial disadvantage, believing that everyone is deserving of equal representation regardless of economic or class status. At the inception of her career, Ms. McAuliffe attended Regis College, where she earned a BA in 1949. Thereafter, she received a JD from New England Law | Boston in 1954. After gaining valuable experience in the field, she returned to education at Boston State College, obtaining a MEd in 1971 and a certificate in advanced graduate studies from the same institution a year later. Since obtaining her degrees, she has been admitted to practice law by the Massachusetts State Bar, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. To share her wealth of knowledge with her community, Ms. McAuliffe was the producer of a weekly television show, “The Legal Line,” which was broadcasted on the Boston Public Access Answer Channel. She was also a reading teacher throughout Boston, a role she maintained until 1993. Equally passionate about her neighborhood, she was active with the World Affairs Council in Boston for 15 years and has been the secretary of the Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts for the past 30 years. The former president of the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers, Ms. McAuliffe has been recognized for her contributions to law in multiple capacities. In addition to receiving an honorary doctorate from New England Law | Boston in 2002, she has been inducted into numerous editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
