310 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION P assionate about helping people in any capacity, S. Kay Rockwell has 41 years of professional experience as an educator. Dr. Rockwell began her career in 1962 with Lincoln General Hospital, serving as an instructor and later acting assistant director for nursing education. She joined the University of Nebraska faculty in 1979 and remained at the institution until her retirement in 2003. During her tenure there, she was an evaluation technologist, member of the advisory board of the Department of Adult Education and Social Foundation, professor in the cooperative extension division, evaluation specialist and professor in the agricultural leadership, education and communications department. Apart from her work in the classroom, she has acted as a consultant to extension specialists, a trainer on program evaluation for Nebraska Extension, and a presenter of workshops and symposia in the field. Dr. Rockwell has helped people by serving in her community as a member and chairman of the social ministry committee of the Nebraska Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, as well as a board member of its advocacy office. From 1987 to 1990, she was research-in-brief editor of the Journal of Extension. She has written articles in professional journals and is affiliated with the American Evaluation Association, the Nebraska Cooperative Extension Association, the Adult Continuing Education Association of Nebraska, Epsilon Sigma Phi and Gamma Sigma Delta. Dr. Rockwell, a nursing graduate of Lincoln General Hospital, earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing, a Master of Arts in adult and continuing education, and a PhD in community and human resources from the University of Nebraska.
