A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 313 D r. Steven T. Rosen has served as an oncologist and hematologist at City of Hope Hematology in Duarte, California, since 2014. In his position, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma, utilizing biologic and immunologic therapies. The provost and chief scientific officer for City of Hope, he is also the director of the comprehensive cancer center, the Beckman Research Institute, and the Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences, where he is also a distinguished chair. He also holds the Morgan & Helen Chu Director’s Chair of the Beckman Research Institute. Prior to these illustrious roles, Dr. Rosen served the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University as director for 24 years and was the Genevieve Teuton professor of medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine for 21 years. Under his direction, the Comprehensive Cancer Center was funded by the National Cancer Institute to build reputable programs in laboratory sciences, clinical investigations, translational research and cancer prevention. Dr. Rosen has publishedmore than 400 reports, books and book chapters throughout his career and currently serves as editor-in- chief of the “Cancer Treatment & Research” textbook series. Dr. Rosen holds a BM and MD from Northwestern University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital between 1977 and 1979, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, between 1979 and 1981. Since that time, he has been employed in myriad roles across the United States, where he has shared his wealth of knowledge with peers and patients alike. Dr. Rosen has received several accolades, including grants from various pharmaceutical and medical associations. He has also received fellowships from the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
