328 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION R ecognized as a diplomate of neurology and psychology by the Bavarian Chamber of Physicians, Wilfried Johannes Schupp is an expert at the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, including stroke, dementia and neuromuscular diseases. Since 1981, Dr. Schupp has served Germany, his home country, helping patients with neurological issues and diseases. Before becoming the prominent figure in medicine he is today, he earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ulm and subsequently became an assistant member of the Psychiatric Clinic Reichenau. From 1984 to 1990 he made a home at Fachklinik Enzensberg as a member of the department of neurology. During his tenure there, he also served as medical vice head of the department of neurology, medical head for the department of neurology, and a member of the neurological university clinic. Currently he serves as the medical head of the department of neurology at Fachklinik Herzogenaurach Hospital, a position he has held since 1996. Dr. Schupp serves as an advisor for the Federal German Association for Rehabilitation of the Disabled, the German Association of Public Work Accident Insurance, and the Bavarian Chamber of Physicians. He has shared his knowledge as a co-author of many books in the field, including his most recent, “Return to Work in Neurological Diseases,” which was published in 2014, and has contributed articles to professional journals. He remains a member of the German Society for Neurology, the German Society for Neurorehabilitation, the German Society for Neurotraumatology and Clinical Neuropsychology, the German Society for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, the German Society for Muscular Ills, the International Association for Study of Pain, the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, the German Stroke Society, the European Academy of Neurology, the German Society of Rehabilitation Science, the Bavarian Network for Rehabilitation Research, the Society Research and Treatment in Aphasia, and the World Muscle Society.
