A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 329 D rawing upon more than three decades of professional experience, Dr. Jared N. Schwartz has been a health care consultant since 2014. He began his career as the director of pathology and labmedicine for PresbyterianHealthcare from1983 to 2009 and served as president of the College of American Pathologists for two years. Following these appointments, he was the chief medical officer of Aperio from 2009 to 2012 and Leica Biosystems from 2012 to 2014. He has also been a consultant professional in the department of pathology at Stanford Medical Center. Alongside his primary endeavors, Dr. Schwartz was the president and a member of the chief medical staff of the Mecklenburg County Medical Society in the late 1980s, as well as the president of the Metrolina Lung Association and Leadership Charlotte. Equally passionate about his community, he has maintained civic involvement with United Way, the Foundation for the Charlotte Jewish Community and the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. He has contributed to numerous publications and made several presentations in his field. Dr. Schwartz holds a BS and MS from Ohio State University and an MD and PhD from Duke University. He has been certified in cytopathology and medical microbiology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Schwartz has been presented with numerous accolades throughout his career. The recipient of the Young Leadership Award and the Schelly Lyon Award from the College of American Pathologists, he also received a First Leadership Award from Leadership Charlotte and an accolade from the Metrolina AIDS Project. In 2010, he was named Pathologist of the Year.
