A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 331 D riven by her desire to help build stabi l ity through economi c development, Dr. Petra Seidler has spent more than two decades trying to bring peace to countries that have experienced wars or natural disasters. She is working in countries such as Afghanistan, Armenia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Egypt and Syria as a government-level project manager on donor-financed projects. Dr. Seidler became involved in her current profession because of her drive and passion for change management. She earned a PhD in finance credit procurement and international economic relations from Saint- Petersburg State University of Economics. In addition to founding Dr. Petra German Medical Center in 2016, she has held many leadership positions in the field. From 2006 to 2010 she served as a project director and change management consultant for the implementation of a project financed by the World Bank and later the Asian Development Bank, the purpose of which was the corporatization and commercialization of the new Afghan national power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, which presently has more than 6,000 employees. Though she has accomplished much throughout her career, one of her most memorable achievements was working on contracts between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan to bring electricity to the former. Another rewarding moment was watching the lights go on in Kabul. Since 2011 she has been working on rebuilding infrastructure in six northern provinces in Afghanistan, which is being funded by the German government through the KfW Development Bank. She currently serves as a team leader and the head of the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund Programme, which is dedicated to both infrastructure development and capacity building. Dr. Seidler attributes her success to being a results-oriented individual with the ability to bring change and accomplish anything she sets out to achieve. In the coming years, she hopes to sustain the project in Afghanistan and continuing building up the Dr. Petra German Medical Clinic. She also plans to write, teach and mentor children while seeking great challenges.
