A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 333 D r. Michael Senra always envisioned himself as an educator, as teaching others would allow him to mentor students while having the freedom to develop and personalize his craft. Dr. Senra swayed toward engineering due to his penchant for chemistry and mathematics in high school, and he subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Cornell University in 2003. Delving further into academia, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan in 2009. Since 2011, Dr. Senra has served Lafayette College in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, ascending the ranks from visiting assistant professor to assistant professor, a role he has fulfilled since 2013. He believes his students admire his ability to provide constructive feedback in a prompt manner, his availability and willingness to answer questions, and his drive to challenge them. In addition to his service toward his students, Dr. Senra shows dedication to the university by engaging faculty members and colleagues in conversations about how to improve the academic sphere. While pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Senra held several roles with the University of Michigan, serving as a graduate student research assistant, graduate research instructor and engineering graduate school mentor. He also completed an internship with ConocoPhillips briefly in 2008. A member of the American Chemical Society, he is also associated with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and American Chemical Educators. Dr. Senra attributes his success to his hard work and dedication to his craft. When not working, he likes to spend his spare time volunteering with United Way, a nonprofit organization that strives to provide health and education for underprivileged people in local communities. He also enjoys cooking, traveling, and watching sports, performing arts events and athletic and artistic undertakings. He was highlighted in the 71st edition of Who’s Who in America, published in 2018. DR. MICHAEL SENRA ASSISTANT PROFESSOR Lafayette College Easton, PA
