410 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION H aving earned credentials in positron emission tomography (PET) from the Joint Nuclear Medicine Credentialing and Accreditation Committee and certification in clinical densitometry from the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, David Chee Yew Wong has practiced medicine for over four decades. Dr. Wong began his career at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland, where he worked as a junior house officer. As he advanced in his career, he worked at facilities across Australia, including Rockhampton Base Hospital, Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Sunnybank Private Hospital, Townsville General Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital, and Prince of Wales Hospital. He currently serves as the director of PET and nuclear medicine for Wesley Medical Imaging. Well-versed in his field, Dr. Wong has achieved much success in his career. On July 16, 2014, he was instrumental in performing the first Ga68-PSMA diagnostic imaging on men with prostate cancer in Brisbane. Three years later, he participated in the first Lutetium 177 PSMA therapy in men with metastatic prostate cancer. He has received many awards and accolades for his contributions to the field, with the most recent being the Rouse Traveling Fellowship from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. He also received the Phillips Medical Prize, the Brian Smith Memorial Award, and the Siemens Medical Solutions Prize. Dr. Wong has written many articles that have been featured in prominent scholarly publications, including the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology; Heart, Lung and Circulation; the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry; and the British Journal of Surgery. Dr. Wong earned a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 1985 as well as a Master of Business Administration from Central Queensland University in 2007. In the coming years he plans to continue working for Wesley Medical Imaging.
