422 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION F or several years, Dr. Yuxun Zhou has built computer algorithms, machine learning models and artificial intelligence models. Dr. Zhou became involved in technology because he wanted to solve real-world problems through his work. To accomplish his goals he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2009, an engineering degree from École Centrale Paris in 2012, and a PhD in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. In 2011 he obtained an internship with Électricité de France and a year later honed his skills as a research assistant at the Laboratory of Mathematics in Interaction with Computer Science at École Centrale Paris. In 2015 he relocated to the United States, where he became a graduate student instructor for the department of electrical engineering and computer sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. Since then, Dr. Zhou has made headway in the field as a data scientist intern at ASML Inc. and in his most recent role as a quantitative researcher for Citadel LLC. He is currently working on two different projects in the financial market. Dr. Zhou’s contributions to the field have earned him many awards and accolades, including first prize at the 6th National Advanced Mathematical Olympics, the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship, a fellowship with A&D SIMATICS, the Hu BaoSheng Honor, and the Student Paper Award from the Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. He has served as a reviewer for the Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS), the Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, the International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Journal of Network and Computer Applications. Dr. Zhou contributed to a book titled “Big Data Analytics for Power Systems,” set to be released in the near future. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. In the coming years, Dr. Zhou hopes to complete his book and publish more papers. YUXUN ZHOU, PHD QUANTITATIVE RESEARCHER Citadel LLC Chicago, IL
