Serving as the vice president of investments and trustee of the J.M. Rubin Foundation since 1983, she has also been the president and chief executive officer of the company since 2013. Prior to these illustrious roles, she held several managerial positions for First National Bank, Southeast Bank N.A., Palm Beach Capital Services, Inc., and Wachovia Securities, Inc., among others. In addition to holding a certificate from the Florida Trust School in affiliation with the University of Florida, Ms. Harper is a registered securities representative, general securities principal, finance and operations principal, options principal, municipal securities principal, investment management advisor and wealth advisor specialist. Before embarking on a career in academia, Dr. Hanson shared his expertise as a space technician for Convair Astronautics and applied mathematician for Arthur D. Little. He was also a physicist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In 1969, he joined the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he served as an assistant professor, associate professor, professor, associate director of the Laboratory for AdvancedComputing, andassociatedirector of theLaboratory for Control and Information. A senior member of IEEE, the Society for Industrial and AppliedMathematics, and theResourceModelingAssociation, Dr. Hanson has written a book on applied social stochastic processes and control and has contributed articles in professional journals. His research has earned grants from the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Argonne National Laboratory Advanced Computing Research Facility, Los Alamos Advanced Computing Laboratory and the National Science Foundation, among others. He earned a BS from Antioch College and an MS and PhD from Brown University. Dr. Hanson hopes to develop robust methods for stochastic volatility specification and jump parameter estimation and calibration.
