A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 461 Q uinn Jackson, who is well-versed in algorithms, computational linguistics and semantics, has enjoyed a successful career in software engineering. Mr. Jackson began working as a software developer for Lambda Systems Ltd in 1996. The following year he became a research programmer for Hyper Technologies Inc., where he remained until 2001. He continued to excel as a software and parsing consultant, chief architect and chief scientist before earning his current position with Synopsys, Inc. Aside from his engineering career, Mr. Jackson is an author and poet who has always had a passion for literature and writing and a fascination with the intricacies of language. Rather than jump directly into writing, he first edited then promoted others’ work as a literary agent for six years. Eventually he progressed to creating his own art, approaching fiction writing with passion and fury. His first three novels were published in the United Kingdom. He is senior a member of IEEE and the Association for Computing Machinery, a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and a member of the Institute of Science & Technology. A former librarian and manager with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy, she previously organized daily activities for the program, which trains members of the national police force, beginning each day promptly at 7 a.m. In addition to overseeing operations, she also participated in training on various aspects of law enforcement and transformed the library into a fully automated resource center for cadets. A vital and dedicated member of the department for nearly 30 years, she received a Long Service Medal in recognition of her honorable service to the force and ultimately to the nation. In her retirement, Ms. Hoffart enjoys keeping physically fit by exercising at Curves gym and serves as a Sunday school teacher for her local church.
