466 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION OWNER Klett Consulting Group, Inc. Virginia Beach, VA MARK N. KLETT A s an expert in cyber security and enterprise architecture, Mark N. Klett is well-suited for his position as the owner of a consultancy that has provided innovative systems engineering for the past 16 years. Mr. Klett initially built a career as a commander in the U.S. Navy, serving for a total of two decades between 1975 and 1995. During this time, he gained a great deal of experience in the implementation of long-term solutions for the ever-changing world of technology, a lesson that has stayed with him throughout his career. Mr. Klett established the Klett Consulting Group in 2002 after noticing a distinct lack of similar businesses in the region; he aimed to fill that void by providing different services and options to the government client base with which he was already familiar. Named Virginia Veterans Small Business Owner of the Year in 2010, Mr. Klett holds a Master of Science in systems engineering, which he earned at the Naval Postgraduate School in 1988. Moving forward, he hopes to continue working with like-minded individuals in an effort to solve the newest problems facing the cyber world. R etaining the belief that science is vital to the blossoming of civilization, Dr. Melvin E. Klegerman is a preeminent biochemist and educator who has been serving EchoDynamics, Inc., as president since 2000 and the University of Texas as a professor since 2013. In addition, he contributes time to Zymo Pharmaceuticals LLC as a founding member and is renowned for his research on immunochemistry, immunoassay development and conjugation chemistry. He has also participated in collaborative studies regarding cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Klegerman earned a BA from the University of Illinois and a PhD from Loyola University Chicago. He also holds multiple U.S. patents on methods for Bacillus Calmette-Guerin dispersal and is recognized for his development of echogenic liposomes for the diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis. A grantee of the National Institutes of Health, he acknowledges that the most rewarding aspect of his career is the knowledge that his discoveries and products have ultimately helped people. Looking ahead, Dr. Klegerman intends to push his products into clinical trials and finish his book. He was honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
