486 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION F or more than three decades, Dr. Dinah Parums has maintained a successful career in the medical field. Dr. Parums became involved in her profession because due to the inspiration and support of her mother who worked as a nurse and midwife in the newly-formed National Health Service (NHS) in the U.K. in the 1950’s. In 1977, Dr. Parums won an Entrance Scholarship to King’s College, Cambridge from grammar school in Derbyshire, England, and earned a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, U.K. and her degrees in surgery and medicine from the Oxford University Medical School, U.K. Dr. Parums held research fellowships at Darwin College, Cambridge, and Wolfson College, Oxford, and visiting research fellowships at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Stanford University Medical School. Dr. Parums is currently a freelance medical and scientific writer, editor and journalist. Although she has reached many accomplishments in her career, she is most proud of teaching medical students. She remains affiliated with many organizations in the field of medical research, medical education and publishing. MEDICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES WRITER, EDITOR, JOURNALIST Oxford, England DINAH VELTA PARUMS J eonghun Park turned his passion for technology into a fruitful career after receiving a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in electronic electrical engineering from Yonsei University in 2010 and 2012, respectively. During his years as an undergraduate he found wireless communication fascinating, so he decided to study that field and utilize his mathematical skills in the process. He attended graduate school in the United States because he felt that doing so would provide him with more and better opportunities. In August 2017, he defended his dissertation at the University of Texas at Austin, subsequently earning a PhD. During his time at the institution he worked as a graduate research assistant, analyzing and developing future wireless communication and network systems. Currently Dr. Park serves as a senior engineer for Qualcomm Inc. and is affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He defines success as being able to lead by example.
