A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 83 EDWARD S. CARTLIDGE CONSULTANT, PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER Lake Harmony, NJ E dward S. Cartlidge’s interest in engineering was sparked by his father and grandfather, who were both civil engineers. When Mr. Cartlidge was in high school he enjoyed building things, so his dad suggested he focus on mechanical engineering. Throughout his career, his goal has always been to set a standard for excellence and provide services and designs of the highest quality. His knowledge and expertise have led to his involvement in developing patents that have advanced the field. A registered professional engineer in many states, Mr. Cartlidge took on various leadership roles for a plethora of companies after beginning his career at FosterWheelerCorporationasaperformanceengineer in1969. Hecontinued to excel and became a consultant engineer for Fluor, Sargent & Lundy, a senior research and development engineer for the Yarway Corporation, and a senior project manager for Conmec, Inc. After 40 years of service, he opened his own private consultant business in 2013. A highlight of his career was working on a 14-megawatt, 46-acre solar farm for McGraw-Hill in New Jersey. It was the largest privately owned solar project in the Western Hemisphere. Aside from his engineering career, Mr. Cartlidge is a born-again Christian who supports Christian ministries throughout the world and provides scholarships. He serves as a member of the board for the Grand Old Gospel Fellowship and is also involved with Mainland Baptist Church in New Jersey, where he teaches Sunday school and participates in fundraising. He earned a Bachelor of Science in marine engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Master of Business Administration from Temple University, and a Master of Arts from the Biblical Theological Seminary. Mr. Cartlidge defines success as being a good husband and doing things of value for the community. He hopes to leave behind a legacy for his family members.
