A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 155 B orn to an Austro-Hungarian Jewish family in Transylvania, Dr. Judith Goldstein was inspired at an early age by her father, who was a tuberculosis specialist. She pursued a career in pediatric medicine, receiving a Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1972. She subsequently served as a pediatric intern, pediatric resident and pediatric co-chief resident at Lenox Hill Hospital between 1972 and 1975. Since the inception of her career, Dr. Goldstein has held a number of roles. She is currently a partner with Global Pediatrics in New York City and an attending physician and clinical adjunct professor of pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Other assignments include serving as a senior attendee at Lenox Hill Hospital, an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for Weill Cornell Medicine, and an assistant attending pediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She has been a diplomate and elected fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1977. In addition to her medical career, she is an accomplished author, having penned the book “24-Karat Kids,” whichwas translated into seven languages. An honorary police surgeon for the New York City Police Department, she maintains membership with the New York County Medical Society, the National Board of Medical Examiners and the New York Academy of Medicine. Dr. Goldstein appeared on CNN to discuss the swine flu epidemic in 2009 and 2010. She was named a New York Top Doctor in 2017, and the International Association of Pediatrics recognized her as a Leading Physician of the World and Top Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in New York in 2014 and 2015, respectively. She was featured by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. and New York Magazine in 2014, and she won the Physician’s Recognition Award from the American Medical Association every year from 2000 to 2003 and in 2009. However, she considers the most rewarding aspect of her career to be the relationships she builds with her patients.
