158 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION P hilip Alan Greenberg was inspired by the work of President Abraham Lincoln in his youth, and thus decided to enter law and politics. After earning a BA in political science and sociology, cum laude, from Brooklyn College in 1970, he received a JD from the New York University School of Law two years later. He has since been admitted to practice law by the New York and New Jersey State Bars, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Tax Court and various federal courts. Since the turn of the century, Mr. Greenberg has been a partner in his private practice, Philip A. Greenberg, P.C., located in the heart of New York City, where he focuses on divorce law and civil litigation. After commencing his career as an associate and partner with Kamerman, Uncyk, Soniker & Klein in 1973, he served as a partner and managing partner of Segal & Greenberg, along with its predecessor firms between 1982 and 1993. He was then briefly a managing partner with Bizar & Martin in the mid-1990s and a partner with Wallman Greenberg Gasman & McKnight for five years prior to founding his own firm. Mr. Greenberg has been featured on several television specials due to his profound legal expertise, and he frequently serves as a lecturer for the National Business Institute, a role he has maintained since 2010. The former secretary and president of the Masters and Wardens Association between 2000 and 2005, he also remains associated with the American, New York and New York City Bar Associations, as well as the Masons. In recognition of his exceptional achievements in law, Mr. Greenberg was named to Super Lawyers from 2009 to 2011 and maintained an AV rating through Martindale-Hubbell for 27 consecutive years. However, the highlight of his career was winning a verdict of $1.7 million on an appeal, which was a significant sum to be awarded at the time.
