188 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION A dedicated nursing professional, Andrea W. Hunt most recently served as an administrative director for the Medical Reserve Corps in Ashland, Kentucky, from 2003 to 2007 before retiring from the medical industry in 2012. Prior to this appointment, she served as a licensed practical nurse at Community Hospice, Inc., in Ashland from 1999 to 2001 and held a similar role with Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, from 1981 to 1992. From 1983 to 1991, she was a paralegal for the Law Office of Marc James Small in Roanoke. In addition to her primary endeavors, Ms. Hunt was an administrator for the ABC Medical Reserve Corps and has conducted presentations for the National Conference Reserve Corps, which she ran during various disasters. She has remained a health officer for ABC Emergency Management in Ashland since 2004 and has also been a disaster committee chairman for the American Red Cross since 2004 and a secretary of the Catlettsburg Cemetery Corporation since 2002. Ms. Hunt holds a diploma in nursing from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and completed coursework at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, from 1973 to 1976. After gaining valuable experience in her career, she received a paralegal certificate from the State University of New York in 1991. Notably, she served as a first lieutenant for the Tennessee State Guard from 1987 to 1991. Though she attributes her success to her mother, Ms. Hunt discovered early in her career that she had a natural affinity for nursing, especially due to her photographic memory. She is the proud mother of two children, a grandmother of four grandchildren and a great-grandmother of one. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping, traveling and antique pricing. ANDREA W.
