190 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION R ichard Isacoff has always lived by the mantra, “Whatever you want to do, do it the right way and do it the best you can.” Driven by a desire to become a lawyer from a young age, he joined the profession to help people and has never turned down a challenge. He completed coursework at Clark University in 1970, followed by a Bachelor of Arts from Western New England University in 1972, and a JD in 1977. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Mr. Isacoff also holds a securities license and a Series 66 license. Since completing his education, he has served in a number of roles throughout his career, most recently as a financial planner and adviser with MW Financial Group, Ltd. He was previously the senior vice president, director of corporate staff and corporate secretary for Provident Bank of Maryland, which was acquired by M&T Bank and began operating under its signage in 2009. Earlier in his career, Mr. Isacoff was director of human resources and corporate secretary for the Aspen Systems Corporation. Prior to this appointment, he was a financial planner with his own private practice in Springfield, Massachusetts, from 1977 to 1980. He began his career as a vice president of human resources and trust officer at Third National Bank between 1973 and 1980. He also briefly taught as an instructor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Mr. Isacoff is a former member of the financial committee of PBS-WGBY TV and of the allocations committee of United Way of Pioneer Valley.
