A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 203 W ith more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Ikar J. Kalogjera has served as a psychiatrist treating adults and adolescents since 1981. He has also been a clinical professor of psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin since 2001 and is an honorary staff member at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital. In his position, Dr. Kalogjera treats patients with a variety of mental illnesses, including bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and personality disorders. Utilizing a combination of talk therapy and medication management, he provides his patients with the highest level of care. A contributing co-author of the American Journal of Psychotherapy, Dr. Kalogjera is the author of “Hospital and Community Psychiatry” and penned a chapter in “The Disordered Couple.” In order to remain abreast of changes within his field, he also maintains affiliation with many medical organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Medical Association and the Wisconsin Medical Society. Dr. Kalogjera is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescence Psychiatry, and a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Since 2002 he has been considered among America’s Top Psychiatrists, and he won the Compassionate Doctor Award in 2018 and 2019, the On-time Doctor Award in 2018 and 2019, and the Patients’ Choice Award in 2018 and 2019. Dr. Kalogjera has been a featured listee in America’s Best Physicians in 2017 and 2018, America’s Most Honored Professionals – Top 1% in 2017 and 2018, and he also received the 2006 Irma Bland Award from the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Kalogjera holds aDoctor of Medicine fromthe University of Zagreb. He completed his internship at the university, as well as a residency in psychiatry at theMedical College of Wisconsin and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati. He is board-certified in psychiatry and child psychiatry and also holds a certification from the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
