A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 19 pursued formal education at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1975. He continued his studies there, obtaining a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialty in International Finance two years later. Additionally, Mr. Mariotti has completed coursework at various other institutions of learning over the years, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Brooklyn College, Babson College and Princeton University. Mr. Mariotti is a prolific writer, having authored or co-authored 41 books and manuals on entrepreneurship and ownership. These include “The Young Entrepreneur’s Guide to Starting and Running a Business,” “Entrepreneurs in Profile: How20of theWorld’sGreatest EntrepreneursBuilt Their Business Empires... and How You Can Too,” and the global best-seller, “Entrepreneurship: Owning Your Future.” In addition, Mr. Mariotti was a blogger for The Huffington Post, publishing over 400 articles. His highly anticipated memoir, “Goodbye Homeboy: How My Students Drove Me Crazy and Inspired a Movement,” will be published by BenBella Books in August 2019. One of Mr. Mariotti’s hobbies is collecting first editions; his collection includes Harriet Beecher Stowe’s politically significant “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” and Thomas Hobbes’ philosophical masterpiece, “Leviathan.” Acknowledged as an expert educator for low- income individuals, Mr. Mariotti was an attendee at The World Economic Forum in Davos for nine years, during which time he co-authored the seminal paper “The Next Wave of Entrepreneurs,” which encouraged the Forum to become a leading advocate of entrepreneurial education globally. Mr. Mariotti is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has attended the Aspen Ideas conference as a speaker. He has been a featured speaker at many conferences in his field and has received multiple honors and accolades for his accomplishments. He received the Leavey Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Free Enterprise Education in 1985, the Humanitarian Venture Award from the ACE/Currie Foundation in 1990, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from New York State in Support of Entrepreneurship from Inc. Magazine in 1992, and the Appel Award from the Price Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies in 1994. In addition, he has earned the National Director’s Entrepreneurship Award from the Minority Business Development Agency, two Golden Lamp Awards from the Association of American Publishers, an award for innovation in business education from the Society of Entrepreneurial Educators, an Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Ernst & Young Global Limited, and the Bernard A. Goldhirsh Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This year, Mr. Mariotti accepted the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
