A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 251 J ay J. Miller has over 60 years of legal experience. Mr. Miller established the Law Office of Jay J. Miller, Esq., a private practice that focuses on financial services in 1995. Well versed in corporate law, securities, business transactions and contracts, he became intrigued with the legal field as an undergraduate. Growing up in a family that believed education was important, it was only befitting that he would continue his education and graduate from Columbia Law School in 1955. He is admitted to practice in New York and before the Supreme Court of the United States. Since the beginning of his career, he has provided legal services in more than 30 states and 10 foreign countries. Outside of his legal career, Mr. Miller enjoys helping people. He has served as director of numerous public and private companies and is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. He currently serves as a director of the Newport Group, Inc. and its affiliated Newport Trust Company. He is a former director of AmTrust Financial Services and OneWest Bank, among others. From 1955 to 1958, he was on active duty with the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Miller attributes his success to sound business judgment, as well as his openness to new learning experiences.
