264 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION D r. KennethWayneMorris is a successful dental practitioner who has been serving VCU Health since 1967. Known for being compassionate toward his patients and maintaining a friendly demeanor on an everyday basis, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will continue to aid patients for years to come. Prior to this illustrious role, he served as a specialist in general dentistry in a private practice for one year. To prepare for his career, Dr. Morris pursued an education at the University of Virginia, where he earned a BA in 1961. Thereafter, he received a DDS from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 1965. Alongside his medical pursuits, he has been chairman of the foundation board for Mid-Atlantic Christian University, as well as chairman of the board of elders and a member of the deacon’s board at Pleasant Hill Christian Church. In addition to teaching Sunday school and singing in the church choir, he is also a member of a quartet and the praise team. He previously participated in a Missionary Extension Action Program that traveled to Japan in 1985 and Hong Kong in 1996. Demonstrating versatility throughout his life, Dr. Morris has notably served as a talented recording artist in affiliation with Gospel Records in the 1970s. He has maintained affiliation with numerous organizations throughout his career, including the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association. He has also served as the state chaplain, state faith fund coordinator, state vice president and state president of The Gideons International, an evangelical Christian association that was founded in Wisconsin in 1899. He also associates himself with the South Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Tanglewood Shores Association and the Lake Gaston Golf Club. Married to Robin C. Morris since 1977, Dr. Morris is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia. He enjoys fishing, skiing, golfing, and playing tennis and baseball in his spare time.
