A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 475 A ndrea Mariani is a physician who specializes in the research, diagnosis and treatment of endometrial cancer. He has gained international recognition as an expert for his studiers on the surgical and postoperative management of uterine cancer. Dr. Mariani serves as a physician with the Mayo Clinic. He is professor in obstetrics and gynecology. He began his career in Milano, Italy, obtaining a medical degree in 1993 and completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1997. He then traveled to the United States to complete a research fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Mayo Clinic. He went on to earn an MS and complete a surgical fellowship in gynecologic oncology in 2005. Drawing upon more than 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Mariani collaborates with the Division of Gynecologic Surgery on the use of robotic surgery and sentinel lymph nodes for the treatment of endometrial cancer. Throughout his career, Dr. Mariani has contributed more than 150 peer-reviewed publications to medical journals. He has received many accolades for his contributions to the field, including being named honorary doctor in gynecologic oncology by the University of Utrecht in 2006. Malott is a respected United States ambassador who recently retired in 2017 after his tenure as president of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC for 11 years. Prior to this appointment, he held multiple roles in the district, serving as the United States ambassador to Malaysia with the U.S. Department of State, a senior advisor under the secretary of state of economic affairs, and the deputy assistant secretary of state of South Asian affairs. Earlier in his career, he expanded his expertise overseas, where he was an American consul with the Department of State in Japan and India, as well as a Sri Lanka desk officer for the Department of State. Mr. Malott holds a BA from Northwestern University and subsequently graduated from the National War College. Throughout his career, he has shared his breadth of knowledge with his colleagues and community, including as the author of the book “Partners,” pubished in 1992. As a testament to his professional success, Mr. Malott has received several accolades, such as the Vietnam Service Award, the Meritorious Honor Award from the U.S. Department of State, and the Superior Honor Award.
