478 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION W ith nearly five decades of experience, Ruth A. McKim is a versatile figure in the realms of financial planning and art therapy. Most recently serving as a financial planner with National Life of Vermont from 1986 until her retirement in 2004, she previously held multiple roles with the Department of Consumer Affairs, including realtor associate for seven years and public relations staff member for two years. She commenced her career as a director of art therapy for multiple hospitals throughout Kentucky beginning in 1955. Ms. McKim holds a BS and an MS in public administration from the University of Louisville. Having become involved in her profession in an effort to aid people in their times of need, she has contributed to many civic engagements throughout her career. As a person who enjoys oil and acrylic painting in her spare time, she was a scholar of the Allen R. Hite Art Institute for two years. In recognition of her success, she has received the Order of Merit and was named a scholar of the Board of Realtors, an honor she has held since 1979. FINANCIAL PLANNER (RETIRED) National Life of Vermont Louisville, KY RUTH A. MCKIM, MSPA D r. George Franklin McCleary Jr. is a seasoned cartographer and educator who served the University of Kansas as an associate professor for nearly 40 years prior to attaining emeritus status in 2013. Having taught in the department of geography and atmospheric science, he is well-known for his dissertation on the dasymetric method in thematic cartography. Prior to serving the University of Kansas, Dr. McCleary was an associate professor at Clark University, a role he held for eight years beginning in 1966. While teaching at Clark, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1969. In addition, he formerly served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Antarctic Projects Office with the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1959 to 1961. A native of Springfield, Ohio, Dr. McCleary has been married to Marilyn Baldwin McCleary since 1959 and is the proud father of three sons. He was previously featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America in recognition of his exceptional contributions to education and cartography.
