54 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION D avid Levin Belt is a skilled attorney who comes from three generations of lawyers. Mr. Belt’s expertise includes a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including antitrust law; unfair trade practices, such as the misappropriation of trade secrets, trade names and trade dress; business torts; and breach of contract. He also has experience in closely held business and professional practice breakups, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), securities fraud, wrongful discharge from employment, employment discrimination, class actions, and other complex civil disputes. In 1965, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University. After graduating he served in the United States Army as a military intelligence officer and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement. In 1970, he returned to his alma mater and earned a Juris Doctor, subsequently gaining admittance to the Connecticut state bar, the United States District Courts of the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the District of Rhode Island, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Outside of the legal profession, Mr. Belt serves as an adjunct professor at the Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he teaches antitrust law and unfair trade practices law. He also taught the same curriculum at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Mr. Belt has shared his knowledge as the co-author of “Unfair Trade Practices” and has contributed articles to professional journals. Currently, he serves as the senior topical editor for antitrust and trade regulation on the Connecticut Bar Journal board of editors. Throughout his career Mr. Belt has earned many awards, including being listed among the Best Lawyers of America and being named a Local Ligation Star. He has been included in various editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World, and was featured in the 27th edition of Who’s Who in the East.
