Hee-Young Kim is trained in the medical and surgical treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, and throat, as well as related structures of the head and neck. As president of Kim Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic in Seoul, he possesses nearly 25 years of experience in the field. He began his career as an intern at Chung-Gu Sung-Shim Hospital in 1993 and a year later began his residency in its department of otolaryngology. He continued to earn various positions as an otolaryngologist at Chung-Ang University Hospital, Anyang Hospital, and the Koh Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic. Dr. Kim prepared for his career by earning a Doctor of Medicine, Master of Science and PhD in pathology from Chung-Ang University. He remains affiliated with many organizations in the field, including Seoul Dongjak Gu Medical Association, the Korean Audiological Society, the Korean Society of Thyroid-Head and Neck Surgery, the Korean Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Hearing Loss Association of America, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. His work in the health care field led him to write a variety of articles in professional journals on topics such as Eustachian tube catheterization, a skill for competitive otolaryngologists; vertigo due to Eustachian tube obstruction; the history of Eustachian tube catheterization; headache due to Eustachian tube obstruction; and the reciprocal casual relationship between laryngopharyngeal reflux and Eustachian tube obstruction. He has won the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and a Letter of Commendation from Seoul Dongjak Gu Medical Association. Dr. Kim has served on the committee of the Korean Medical Association since 2010 and is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Otolaryngology – ENT Research, a position he has held since 2016.
