Georgi Tsiklauri is a retired laboratory fellow with more than two decades of professional experience who was inspired to pursue a career in the sciences by a brilliant professor he worked with in Moscow. As a young student, Dr. Tsiklauri was intrigued by thermal science, thermal dynamics and heat transference, which subsequently turned into his principal focus. He graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1959, then earned a PhD in thermal physics from the school in 1968 and a Doctor of Science in thermal physics from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1985. After earning his credentials, Dr. Tsiklauri became a department director at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, where he served for six years. He migrated to the United States in 1991 and served as a laboratory fellow for Battelle and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory until his retirement in 2012. He is most proud of his work in two-phase flow, which is his specialty, and holds patents for nuclear power plants. Dr. Tsiklauri is the co-author of “Two-Phase Cooling and Corrosion in Nuclear Power Plants” and has contributed articles to professional journals. A former fellow of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer, he remains affiliated with the American Nuclear Society and the United States Tennis Association.
