382 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION ROSALIE M. UHT, MD, PHD ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR Health Science Center, University of North Texas Fort Worth, TX D r. Rosalie M. Uht was born in August 1953 and reared in New York City by parents Charles Frederick and Carol Kinzel Uht. Interested in science since a young age, she was the first woman to receive an MD and PhD from Stony Brook University. In addition to her doctorates, she holds a BA in music history from the University of Southern California and a BSN from the School of Nursing at Columbia University. She is also certified in anatomic pathology and neuropathology by the American Board of Pathology. Since 2008, Dr. Uht has been an associate professor within the Health Science Center at the University of North Texas. Alongside this primary endeavor, she has been an associate neuropathology professor in the department of pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and an associate professor at the Center for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases since 2010. Prior to these appointments, she served the University of Virginia and the University of California, San Francisco, in myriad academic and research roles, commencing her career as a clinical neuropathology professor in 1994. As one who attributes her success to her persistence and dedication to the field, Dr. Uht contributed to the publications Molecular Endocrinology and BMC Genetics earlier in her career. She has also maintained affiliation with several organizations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Association of Neuropathologists, Sigma Xi and Sigma Theta Tau. She was an active community member in the town of Westmore, Vermont, from 2009 to 2013. As a testament to her success, Dr. Uht received the President’s Award for Excellence in Research from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2012 and the Lieber Investigator Award from the Brain Research Foundation in 2003. She was also previously selected for inclusion in the 69th, 70th and 71st editions of Who’s Who in America. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the cello. She received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
