A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 397 CAROL ANN WEHRHEIM WRITER, EDITOR Princeton, NJ B efore becoming the established writer that she is, Carol Ann Wehrheim began her career as an educator. After completing a master’s degree from 1964 to 1974, Ms. Wehrheim served as director of Christian education for Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Hammond St. Congregational Church, and St. John’s United Church of Christ. She was also a teacher for School Union 90 in Alton, Maine from 1970 to 1971 andwas the director of theWoodsMemorial Child Development Center. From there she served as the early childhood secretary for the United Church Board for Homeland Ministries in New York City. For three years she was the assistant director of the Doctor of Ministry program at McCormick Seminary in Chicago before becoming a full-time writer and editor. She also served as the associate readability editor on the editorial team for the Common English Bible published in 2011. Ms. Wehrheim has written several books, including “The Great Parade,” “Getting It Together” and “Giving Together.” She was also an editor for the Feasting on the Word curriculum. One of the highlights of her career was having her 18 board books of Bible stories for toddlers reviewed in the Philadelphia Inquirer, which is not common. She was also asked to have her papers archived in the Princeton Theological Seminary Library. Ms. Wehrheim is a life member of the American Association of University Women, from which she received the Outstanding Young Women of America Award in 1968. She is also affiliated with the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators and received its Educator of the Year Award in 2011. In 2014, she was named a Distinguished Alumna of McCormick Theological Seminary. Ms. Wehrheim attributes her success to her family, who have always supported her without criticism and allowed her the freedom to do anything she chooses to do.
