Bowerman has maintained a successful career spanning over two decades. Ms. Bowerman’s parents instilled in her a curiosity about the world, a sense of responsibility and caring for others, as well as a strong work ethic that have carried her throughout her career. During her time in law school, she was awarded a Tulane University Public Interest Law Foundation grant to work for Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services in Atlanta, Ga. Her work there inspired her to continue providing immigration legal representation in private practice once she graduated. Beginning her career as a law clerk for a legal assistance program at Tulane University, she worked her way up to become founder and senior attorney for Immigration & Nationality Law Group. The most rewarding aspects of her career are attending naturalization ceremonies for her clients and witnessing their happiness and pride at accomplishing the sometimes daunting task of becoming U.S. citizens. Looking to the future, Ms. Bowerman hopes to continue providing personal legal representation to immigrants and inspiring and assisting younger attorneys to do the same. SENIOR ATTORNEY Immigration & Nationality Law Group New Orleans, LA KRISTIE L. BOWERMAN, ESQ. B efore delving into the educational field, Richard Bolan, PhD was a powerhouse urban planner. From 1956 to 1964, Dr. Bolan held several leadership positions as a planner for Providence Redevelopment Associates and Planning and Renewal Associates, principal planner for the Boston City Planning Board, director of renewal planning for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, and director of planning for the Boston Regional Transportation Study. With the experience and knowledge he gained from his previous positions, he began working as an assistant to the director of the Harvard–MIT Joint Center for Urban Studies. He later taught as a professor at Boston College from 1967 to 1985. That same year Dr. Bolan made a home at the University of Minnesota, where he served as a professor of urban planning for 13 years, subsequently earning the title of professor emeritus in 1998. His successful career is backed by a Bachelor of Engineering from Yale University, a Master of City and Regional Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD from New York University.
