A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 439 V icky Culver has been the coordinator of gallery exhibits for the Guild of Creative Art since 2000. Before becoming the prolific artist she is today, Ms. Culver began a career in publishing, designing publicity material and books for Longman Educational Publishers until she relocated to Ottawa, Canada, in 1974. She worked as a designer for New Designs in Ottawa, various departments of the Canadian government, and Banfield Advertising. A resident of Howell, N.J., since 1987, Ms. Culver has participated in hundreds of group shows. Her unique, handcrafted photo collages can be found in private collections throughout the United States, Europe and New Zealand. Many articles have been written about her artwork, and she has also been featured in the Asbury Park Press and State of the Art Magazine. Ms. Culver has been included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in American Art, and received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. She is a member of Audubon Artists, the Guild of Creative Art, the Belmar Arts Council, the Art Alliance of Monmouth County, the Art Society of Monmouth County and the Freehold Art Society. Specializing in secondary education, shehas taught inseveral school districts across the states of Oklahoma and Texas, including the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, Boone-Apache Public Schools, Bridge Creek Public Schools, Cyril Independent School District, Kingsville Independent School District and Calhoun County Independent School District. Having retired from education in 2017, she intends to write a book about her unique experience as an educator for nearly five decades. Ms. Crow holds a BA in business from Sul Ross State University and an MS in behavioral science from Cameron University, and has received certifications from the Texas State Education Agency and the Oklahoma Education Association. The former president of the Association of Texas Professional Educators, she has received several honors throughout her career, including being named Teacher of the Year by the Oklahoma Education Association in 1985 and 1995 and by the Texas Education Association in 2006. However, the highlight of her career was witnessing five students receive a score of 5 on their Advanced Placement examinations, the highest that can be achieved. RITA JANE RYLAND CROW
