In recognition of his dedication to health care advancement, Dr. Donohue received the Breathing for Life Award from the American Thoracic Society Foundation in 2018 and was rated by Expertscape as one of the top 10 pulmonologists for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the U.S. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the former chief of the Division of Pulmonary Diseases & Critical Care Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine.
