Hawkins has harnessed therapeutic properties of radiation to treat and cure cancer. Dr. Hawkins became involved in his profession because his experience in science led him to pursue a career in medicine. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in physics, a Doctor of Medicine and a PhD from Washington University, he became a postdoctoral research fellow at the James Franck Institute at The University of Chicago. With the skills he learned in that position, he began a career in postsecondary education as an assistant professor of biochemistry at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. After serving in that position for five years, he became a radiation oncologist for the department of radiation medicine at Florida Hospital Orlando, Watson Clinic, and the Ochsner Medical Center, where he currently serves. In addition to his responsibilities at Ochsner, he also continues to teach as a clinical assistant professor at the Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Hawkins, a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, attributes his success to his training in science and medicine. ROLAND B. HAWKINS, PHD R obert M. Hart is an esteemed lawyer whose expertise in the field has been defined by his years serving various firms, where his wealth of knowledge has resulted in his prominence within the industry. Most recently serving as a senior vice president, general counsel and secretary with the Alleghany Corporation from 1994 until his retirement in 2011, he also held multiple roles with Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine between 1969 and 1994. Since 1986, Mr. Hart has also been a senior lecturer in law at his alma mater, Duke University. After receiving a BA fromMarist College in 1966, he went on to attend Duke University in 1969, earning a JD. He has been admitted to practice law in New York, as well as before the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Hart attributes his success to his many mentors. Having worked on a broad range of cases throughout his career, he is humbled by his vast array of experience. The most rewarding of these experiences during his career was working with a company called LOR on portfolio insurance, which protects investors from market crashes.
