464 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION A respected engineer and manager, Dr. Peter Kehoe most recently lent his expertise to The Blasket Group Ltd. as president from 2004 until his retirement in 2016. In his position, he specialized in product development and management, strategic planning, business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and manufacturing. Prior to serving in this capacity, he was the technical and product manager and director for DuPont for 31 years beginning in 1973. Dr. Kehoe holds a BE and MEngSc from University College Dublin, an MS from Cistercian College, and a PhD in chemical engineering from Yale University. Attributing his profound success to his parents, who were both intelligent in their own rights, he had a natural affinity for education. After earning his doctorate, Dr. Kehoe served as an ICI Research Fellow at Cambridge University in England and a research fellow for the Irish Institute for Industrial Research and Standards. Married with four children and five grandchildren, he is proud of his children’s accomplishments. His three sons are attorneys and a manager of an engineering consulting firm, and his daughter is a student of library sciences. Dr. Kaplan’s primary areas of research were the development and refinement of procedures for early identification and treatment of gynecological tumors, as well as the development of reconstructive procedures for problems that occur following radical pelvic surgery. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Lee University and a Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University, he was an intern at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a resident in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) at Columbia- Presbyterian Medical Center. Before retiring in 2015, he served as chairman of the department of OB-GYN at Houston Methodist Hospital and as a professor in the department of OB-GYN at both the Baylor College of Medicine and Cornell University. Dr. Kaplan is affiliated with the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Cancer Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and the Houston Gynecological and Obstetrical Society.
