A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 501 I t stands to reason that many people pursue professions that hold some personal significance to them, whether due to familial influence or prior life experiences. In Richard Tattersfield’s case, working in the secondary labor market and getting injured while on the job made him painfully aware that better health and safety practices could be implemented in workplaces all over the globe. As a senior health and safety consultant for public accounting and consulting firm Crowe Horwath, he conducts safety audits and workplace accident investigations, advising on precautionary methods to prevent injury and assessing physical or property damage. Formerly an assessment, investigation and adventure activities inspector with WorkSafe NZ, the government’s occupational health and safety regulator, Mr. Tattersfield has more than 20 years of experience in his field, as well a distinct ability to engage community members and other safety officials. The recipient of a craftsman certificate, Mr. Tattersfield is a member of New Zealand Plumbers and the New Zealand Institute of Management. Looking ahead, he intends to continue growing professionally and promoting improved health and safety practices throughout the world. SENIOR HEALTH AND SAFETY CONSULTANT Crowe Horwath Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand RICHARD TATTERSFIELD F ollowing in his grandfather’s footsteps, John F. Stroud Jr. built a successful career as a judge after gaining several decades of experience as a trial attorney. Mr. Stroud received a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Arkansas in 1960 and was subsequently admitted to practice in the Arkansas Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Texas and the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to becoming a judge with the Arkansas Court of Appeals in 1996, he represented a multitude of clients as a partner with Smith, Stroud, McClerkin, Dunn & Nutter. Mr. Stroud was recognized as chief judge in 2001, maintaining this position for three years before taking a step back to work as a mediator, arbitrator and neutral evaluator with ADR, Inc. Now retired, he continues to be widely regarded for his knowledge of state planning and probate law. Mr. Stroud has been recognized for his achievements with a Golden Gavel Award and Presidential Award of Excellence. He previously served as chairman of the Arkansas Chapter of the Federal Bar Foundation and as an advisory board member with the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.
