To remain abreast of developments in the field, Dr. Loder is a member of several industryrelated organizations, including the American Society for Quality, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi. He is also a fellow of the American Institute of Chemists. To attest to his profound success over the years, he was highlighted in the first edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering in 1992. Dr. Loder is notably a United States Navy veteran, in which he served from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1952. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue enjoying his well-deserved retirement. Married to his wife Charlotte since 1971, he has four children: Christine, Kathleen, Edwin and Helen. He also has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dr. Edwin R. Loder received a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University in 1952, followed by a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1955. Upon receiving his doctorate, he began serving as a senior chemist for Eastman Kodak in New York for the following four years. From there, Dr. Loder was promoted to the rank of director of research with Maumee Chemical in Toledo, Ohio, in 1959, remaining in that role for six years until being hired by GAF in Binghamton, New York, in 1965. Excelling with GAF as a laboratory manager, he joined DuBois Chemical in Cincinnati in 1966 as executive vice president of operations – he maintained the position for nearly 20 years before departing from DuBois in 1985. Thereafter, Dr. Loder joined Delray Chemical in Delray Beach, Florida, as president from 1985 to 1993. Concurrent to his latter roles, Dr. Loder excelled as the president of ERL & Associates in Boynton Beach, Florida, from 1985 until his retirement in 2010.
