101 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING J ean Luena Mestres Sulc has served in federal government and been a business executive and lobbyist for more than 55 years. Currently the president of Edge SystemXXI, founded inWashington, DC, in 1996, she spent more than a decade employed with OXY USA, Inc., as a government affairs representative and manager of federal relations. Commencing her career as a staff member of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), she interned at the Adams County Planning Department in Colorado and consulted on planning policy for the City and County of Denver. She relocated to Washington, DC, where she was the program director, Council for International Urban Liaison, thenmoved to international issues with Cities Service Oil & Gas Corp. During the early 1990s, she chaired the government affairs committee of the L.P. Gas Clean Fuel Coalition in Irvine, California. Drawing upon a BS in psychology from Tufts University and Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver, Ms. Sulc is a licensed real estate agent, a licensed private pilot of single engine land aircrafts and a certified business retention and expansion consultant. She is notable for being the first woman and minority to head a Government Affairs Office of oil and gas/A.P.I. companies in Washington, chair the Savannah River Site Citizens Advisory Board in Aiken, South Carolina, and chair the Beaufort County (SC) Board of Elections and Voter Registration. The recipient of a Presidential Citation from the National Propane Gas Association, she was also a grantee of the Denver Regional Council of Governments. Listed in such prominent publications as Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women, she was highlighted in The Wall Street Journal on February 5, 2019 and received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. She is amember and secretary of the Beaufort Aviation Association and Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, and an emeritus member of the American League of Lobbyists. With the Community Bible Church (CBC), Ms. Sulc has participated in four Mission trips: Brazil and, in partnership with Ambassadors for Christ International, the Philippines and Zambia.
