105 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine R etiring fromVistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc., as a research fellow in 2013, Dr. John B. Enns dedicated 24 years to the corporation as a senior scientist, principal scientist and senior principal scientist. Commencing his career in 1975 as a research associate at the Midland Macromolecular Institute, he also served AT&T Bell Laboratories as a technical staff member. Since 2003, Dr. Enns has been the president of Polymer Networks Characterization Inc., having formerly acted as a consultant for numerous entities. He holds a BS in chemistry from the University of British Columbia, MS in macromolecular science from Case Western Reserve University, and MA and PhD in chemical engineering from Princeton University. Notably, Dr. Enns developed the concept of the liquid-liquid transition in polymers, as well as the concept of the TTT and CHT diagrams for thermosetting polymers. Holding 30 patents, he formed a 3D object, such as a contact lens, without a mold. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to polymers, he was named a fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineering and won an Outstanding Service Award from the North American Thermal Analysis Society. ENNS, PHD D avid Alligood is an acclaimed executive and engineer who was employed by the Welded Tube Company of America in Chicago, Illinois, from 1969 until retirement. Commencing his career as the manager of engineering for nine years, he ascended the ranks to manager of operations, assistant vice president of operations, and vice president of engineering and planning. Since 1988, he has served as director of technical development, having also sat on the board of directors since 1987. Delving into the steel and tubing industry was a natural progression for Mr. Alligood, and he has enjoyed every moment of his career. A former student of the University of Georgia, the University of California Los Angeles and Los Angeles State College, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant between 1955 and 1959. He is a past president and chairman of the board of the Lake Calumet Sanitary Association, as well as a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers and the International Tube Association. He was highlighted in the 24th through 26th editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
