111 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D rawing upon a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from the University of British Columbia, Donald J. Hudson was a respected stock exchange executive of the Vancouver Stock Exchange in Canada, where he served as president from 1982 to 1995. Commencing his career in 1952, he first was employed by Canadian Pacific Air Lines in their sales development and marketing department until 1964. From 1964 to 1981, he was the senior vice president of the Pacific Division of T. Eaton Company Limited before taking on his most recent role. Civically involved as well, Mr. Hudson served as chairman of the board of governors of Simon Fraser University, having previously been a member of the board. He also served St. Paul’s Hospital as chairman of the board of trustees and a trustee. Earlier in his career, he served on the board of The Playhouse Theatre and the Canadian Committee on the Pacific Basin Economic Council. In 1974, he served as the Chair of the United Way Campaign Committee for Greater Vancouver. To remain abreast of developments in the industry and his community, Mr. Hudson served on the board of directors of the Vancouver Club, the Canadian Club of Vancouver, the Vancouver Board of Trade and the Endowment Fund of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. Likewise, he sat on the board of governors of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and was a corporate board director of the British Pacific Properties Limited and Norwich Union Life Insurance Society. As a testament to his longevity in the field, Mr. Hudson received a University Medal in Arts and Science from the University of British Columbia in addition to a Big Block Award from the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Notably, Simon Fraser University presented him with an honorary Doctor of Letters in 1993. He was highlighted in a number of prominent Who’s Who publications. DONALD J.
