125 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS S ince 1996, Dr. Robert Allen Ersek has been the founder and chair of Personique, a plastic surgery center located in the heart of Austin, Texas. Dedicated to providing the most advanced cosmetic procedures with renowned and trusted professionals, the center has treated more than 50,000 patients. With services that include facial plastic surgery, breast plastic surgery, body contouring, reconstructive surgery, rhinoplasty, and skin rejuvenation, Personique is acclaimed by patients and the media alike. Dr. Ersek is an internationally renowned surgeon whose primary focus is reconstructive surgical methods. He has contributedmore than 200 articles to medical journals, authored more than 12 books, and holds patents for 34 surgical devices, including the world’s first intro-vascular stent. In addition, he aided in the development of the world’s first membrane oxygen pump, published technical reports on the suction-assisted lipectomy process, and delivered numerous lectures on a global scale. He has been serving as a clinical assistant professor of plastic surgery at Texas State University and an instructor at the University of Texas for many years. In addition to being certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Ersek is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He maintains affiliation with the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Trauma Society. He holds a BS from the University of Charleston and an MD from Hahnemann Medical College. He also completed research fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann Medical College, interned in surgery at University of Minnesota Hospitals, served as a fellow in the department of surgery at the University of Minnesota, and completed a residency in the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Tulane University. As a testament to his success, Dr. Ersek received the Award of Excellence in Medical Writing from Minnesota Medicine, a Grand Award from the Student American Medical Association Squibb National Contest, and an Alan Edelsohn Prize from Hahnemann Medical College.
