152 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine S heila Hermes Marshall is a nationally acclaimed attorney whose expertise in the industry stems from her early interest in the law. Inspired by her family members who worked in the profession, she attended St. John’s University and received a BA in 1959. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, she served as a secretary at a local law firm, which further prompted her interest in the field. She subsequently earned a LLB from New York University in 1963 and began working as an associate at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, now known as Dewey & LeBoeuf. Throughout her career, Ms. Marshall excelled in her myriad roles with the prestigious firm, escalating to partner in 1973 and of counsel in 1996. She retired in 2004 after amassing 41 years in the field. Ms. Marshall was certified to practice law in New York in 1964 and earned admission to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd, 3rd, 5th andD.C. Circuits, aswell as before the Supreme Court of the United States. She remains current with industry developments through her affiliations with the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. With a passion and enthusiasm for legal education, she attributes her success to her diligent work ethic and the opportunities she has grasped to work with premier lawyers. Among the notable moments of her career, she is most proud of when she served as a special assistant to Randall J. LeBoeuf Jr. during a high-profile case, which dealt with the divergence of water from the Great Lakes into the Mississippi River by running it through Chicago’s canal system. As a testament to her longevity in the industry, Ms. Marshall was highlighted in several Who’s Who publications, including Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
