153 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine I nspired to enter the world of law by his father, who was a lawyer during the Great Depression, J. Lawrence McIntyre is a respected attorney with over 50 years of experience to his credit. Serving as general counsel, vice president and secretary at The Toro Company in Minneapolis since 1993, he was previously employed by Doherty, Rumble & Butler between 1967 and 1993 after acting as a law clerk to the presiding judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit between 1966 and 1967. During his tenure at The Toro Company, Mr. McIntyre maintains involvement in the mediation program, where he has mediated and resolved every case without a trial. He specializes in corporate finance, acquisitions and securities law compliance. In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. McIntyre has been the president of the board of directors of St. Paul’s Bridge Center since 2015. He also maintains affiliation with the American Bar Association on their law and accounting committee in the Business Law Section, the Minnesota Bar Association in the Minnesota Club, and the Hennepin City Bar Association. He was also the director of the Counsel Association with the Minnesota Corporation during his career. Admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota in 1966, Mr. McIntyre holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from the University of St. Thomas and LLB from the University of Minnesota. He was admitted to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in 1966 and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1984. During his law studies, he was notably inducted into the Order of the Coif. Motivated by the new challenges he faces every day, Mr. McIntyre advises prospective lawyers to work diligently toward their goals and respect other people’s points of view. As a testament to his success and longevity in the field, Mr. McIntyre has been selected for inclusion in the 35 th edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, the 60 th through 62 nd editions of Who’s Who in America, the 32 nd through 35 th editions of Who’s Who in the Midwest, and myriad editions of Who’s Who in American Law.
